I woke up early next morning. Then, I took a long bath to make sure that my fur was clean and bright as the sun. I almost asked Selfi to put some glitter in my fur, but then I thought that I would look less ferocious.
Last time I went to a ball was on Pluto. I still remember the day Lumi came home and told us that we will go to the Ball of Colours from Pluto. Back then, I did not know what a ball party was so I just listened to them talk and hoped that I could understand something. I did understand something, but the wrong thing. I was listening to Color and Lumi talk about the ball party. Color was eating ice cream and asked Lumi what he should wear at the party. Lumi said that as long as he does not wear his daily overalls, he will look good. Then, Color said that he will go in shorts. When Lumi heard that, she started laughing, so I thought that Color said the right thing.
Then, I listened to Music and Selfi talk about the ball party. I heard them say that on some songs you need to spin and spin. I felt sick when I heard that, because when I spin I always feel like puking. So I stopped listening. I did not want to get sick.
When I was on my way to bed, I heard Lumi say that she loves the lights from the ball parties. She also said that there will be a lot of happy people and they will have a lot of fun. After hearing that, I was sure that I knew everything. The ball party was an amusement park! So my family wanted to go in some roller coasters and spin in some weird, scary machines. I did not want that. No, thank you. I will stay home and sleep.
When they were all ready to go to the ball party, they noticed that I did not want to go. They all came to me and started wondering what was wrong. I was the most cheerful member of the family and I did not want to go to this party.
I growled a bit and turned around in my bed. But then Music started tickling me and I could not stay still. I turned to him to growl but exactly then Lumi asked why I did not want to go to the party and dance.
What dance?! They wanted to go to an amusement park and ride into all those roller coasters, to get dizzy from all those lights. That was not a dance! A dance is when you are listening to music and your body slowly starts to move around on the rhythm. Music is something you feel, it does not blind you like a car’s lights.
Music understood that I was confused and explained to me what a Ball party was. As soon as I understood that a ball party is actually a ball dance, I jumped out of my bed, ready to go. Let’s go!!!
So I went to the ball dance and I loved it! I danced and spun around on a waltz. I looked at all those beautiful lights. It was magical!!
That is why I was looking forward to the Ball Dance from Uranus, and I was not disappointed.
The balls from Urans invited us to come to the Gate of the Wise. Inside the gate, I saw the most beautiful spectacle.
The ball from Uranus was without music. But it was much more complex than that. I will explain everything.
As soon as we came in, all the lights were turned off. Then, one of the small balls lit up. It looked like a small sun. Then, on the opposite side of the room, another small ball lighted, and then another one and another one.
Soon after, two small balls started lighting at once, and then three at once and then suddenly there were hundreds and hundreds of small balls lighting. Then, the lights started dancing. They were changing colours and moving around the room. It was very beautiful. Everything was shining in complete silence.
But when you see all that light dancing, you also start hearing the rhythm. I mean that you start taping your foot on the same rhythm as the movement of the light. Then, you start clapping; your body slowly starts moving and soon after you start dancing without realizing. We all started dancing. Lumi and Color were waltzing and Selfi and Music were dancing in a very unique way, like only children can. They were laughing, singing, and moving their arms and legs in all directions. They were filling the room with their happiness.
I also jumped around that enormous room, and danced with the small balls. They were changing their colors, which meant that they were happy. It was the most beautiful ball dance I have ever been to. Even though we had no music, we could still hear it in our hearts. Even though the balls could not talk, we could feel that they were happy as well.
At some point, the balls lined up leading us to another place. We followed them and we reached a beautiful rock mountain, where the sealed document was waiting for us. Color carefully picked it up and put it to his chest. He was so happy!
I could even see tears in his eyes. We were all afraid that we would not receive the sealed document from Uranus. But we tried our best and I think that the small balls appreciated that.
We left Uranus surrounded by light, because all the small balls were there to say goodbye. I was sad that we had to leave, but we had a mission to complete. I was sure that one day, we will return to Uranus and we will go to another extraordinary ball.
When we got to the Ship, we stayed up past our bedtime, telling it all about our adventures. When I finally went to bed, I dreamt about marshmallows, colourful balls and ball dances. I think that I even danced in my sleep because I woke up on the cold floor. But I quickly climbed back into my bed and slept a bit longer. I almost started to dream again, when Color called all of us. He wanted to show us something grandiose.
