We got off Neptune straight into a fluffy cloud. Woah! It felt great! There, the clouds look like huge, huge trampolines! And they are blue! Imagine that you are walking on a gigantic and fluffy jelly. Of course, you cannot walk normal anymore. We were moving so much up and down, left and right that it made out teeth chatter.
When Color saw all of us trying to keep our balance, he started laughing at us. It was clear that we would not be able to stand straight. So, we let ourselves fall on the cloud and started jumping as if we were on a real trampoline. Somehow, with the beautiful blue colour, the clouds looked very delicious. I don’t know how to explain it, but my mouth is drooling and I feel like eating everything!
But then Color stopped laughing suddenly. He looked worried at us and then up. There was something above our heads. I also looked up and then hid myself behind Music’s legs. The monsters were there!
I still shiver when I think about it. They were so terrifying that I did not dare to look at them. However, Color wasn’t such a coward as I was, and he started talking to them.
“We are coming from Pluto” he said, raising his arms and palms up. He learned that this is the gesture that indicates peace. “ We need your help!” he continued. “We want to go to Earth and convince them that Pluto is also a planet! But we need your support. You have to tell Earth that you also believe Pluto is a real planet and not just a dwarf planet.”
The shapes of the giants were dancing around us and it suddenly became clear that they can also fly. Oh… giant monsters that can also fly… This thought made me shiver again. I will never get out of my hiding spot! Brrr
Lumi also tried to talk to the giants, but they remained silent. Then, Selfi tried a sign language. She was moving her hands in all directions and it seemed that she had no idea of what she was doing. After some time, she also gave up.
I continued to shiver, with my ears flat on my head. They were banging so hard against my head that I sounded like a drum playing a happy song. Music heard the rhythm and started humming along.
I have to be honest. I was embarrassed. The miciniks are usually brave, but here I was very afraid. However, after a short time, the jolly micinik became stronger than the scared miciniks. My feet also started to follow the rhythm made by my ears and without knowing I started dancing and jumping here and there on that huge, fluffy jelly.
Music was humming further and I was dancing around. To be honest, I had forgotten all about the giants. In my head, I was home, safe and happy with my beautiful family. I even managed to tumble around on that soft jelly. During one of the jumps, I touched my right-front pawn with the back, left one; and then my tail with one of my ears. I was dancing so fast that my ears were flapping up and down, as if I was ready to start flying. My fur was also moving in all directions. Actually, I was looking like a real dog which was wet and was trying to shake the water away.
I would have continued dancing, but I wanted to try a new, complicated jump. I was in the middle of the jump, when I got too happy about it and I farted loudly. After I realized what just happened, I got so embarrassed that I farted again. Such bad luck! As I was preparing to run away in shame, some loud and scary sounds surrounded us. They sounded like stones that were falling off tall mountains. When I looked up, I could see the monsters and it looked like they were laughing at me. In that moment my fear transformed into anger. I almost started yelling at them, but I stopped the last moment. Otherwise, I would have said:
“Are you laughing at me?!”
But I did not manage to say anything, because the flying monsters sat down, next to us. They were actually very small. Dwarf monsters. They were also very, very fluffy! I realized then, that what we could see, was their shadow projected on the clouds around us. It is the same as when you play at night with the lantern and you make animal shapes on the wall, with your fingers and hands. That is exactly how we saw the monsters big.
I have to admit that I saw them differently now. Were we really afraid of those small monsters?? Color was the one who started talking first:
“Do you understand what we are saying?”
Of course that they did not understand. They just continued to laugh at me as if I was a clown. We were lucky with Selfi, who started drawing our planet on a piece of paper. When the monsters saw the planet’s big heart, they smiled and showed us that they understand what it is. Selfi continued and pointed towards the planet, then towards us, explaining that we are coming from there. They nodded in understanding. Slowly, Selfi explained everything through drawings and every time they nodded happily.
I have to admit that Selfi really knows how to solve complicated problems.
Afterwards, Selfi gave them the paper and asked them to draw something. She wanted an answer. Unexpectedly, a happy monster with funny hair took the piece of paper and started drawing. He looked very happy doing it. But when he turned the paper around, our hearts almost stopped. He drew Pluto, with its big heart. Then, he started drawing all the things Selfi had already drawn. When I saw that, I got very mad. You know that when I get mad, I become ferocious. So I went to Color growling, such that he can hold me back from attacking the monsters.
But Selfi waited patiently until they were done drawing and then she drew new things. They started copying those drawings as well, as if they were in a competition and not trying to have a conversation.
When I was almost ready to attack, one of the monsters raised its hand and everyone became silent. Then, he waved at us to follow him. This is how our adventure on Neptune started. What we did not know then, was that we were about to go through three challenges. The monsters were challenging everyone who was visiting their planet to ask for help.
